When Groot first arrived in foster, everything was exciting and he wanted his nose in absolutely everything. As he’s settled, he’s learned to relax and his lovely personality has really shone through. He travels well in the car, sleeps through the night, has good recall in the garden, and is picking up new commands quickly. Groot is a big, goofy character who will make you laugh every day, but he’s also a huge cuddle bug who loves nothing more than being close to his people. Around the house he’s known as “Grooty with the Booty”, “Grootilicious”, and “Merry Grootmas” – nicknames that suit his larger-than-life personality perfectly.
Groot has a rough, bouncy play style and is still learning his doggy manners, so we think he is happy to be an only dog in the home or can go with another large bouncy dog maybe a female would work better for him. He walks well on the lead but is a strong boy who loves stopping to sniff every interesting smell, so he’ll need a confident handler who can keep him moving. He can be left for short periods, especially if he has plenty to keep him occupied with chew toys or bones.
Due to his size and enthusiastic nature, we feel Groot would be best suited to a home with older children. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a playful spirit, a great sense of humour, and endless love to give, Groot could be your perfect match.
MAY 26 Please meet a very sad soul who arrived in the rescue a couple of weeks ago.
Groot means big, large or great and this boy started off as a twig, we hope he will grow into a beautiful tree. Groot is around 2 years old, he came in in appalling condition, absolutely emaciated, fur loss, matted ears, tail wound, no muscle tone, just skeletal.

UPDATE: Groot came into the rescue as a stray. After gaining some much-needed weight, he has embraced life and is enjoying exploring the world and learning all about being a much-loved family member. Groot is a big, long-legged Saluki with an affectionate, fun-loving personality. He loves meeting people, leans into you for fuss, and will happily climb onto your lap, completely unaware of his size. He adores his ball, toys, and his paddling pool, where you’ll often find him happily lying on hot days.

Honey is approx 4 years old who is speyed and looking for an experienced home where they can build on her confidence and further her training.

Sadly, Honey, her brother & their pup proved to much for their previous family and kept in a small box room.  Consequently, this meant that the dogs were rarely walked and under socialised which was immediately evident in their behaviour upon arriving in rescue.

 Honey was extremely triggered by birds, chasing & pulling and barking even when in the sky which are all associated with a high prey drive and under socialisation.  A very anxious young girl.

Moving on and with the training and understanding of the rescue Honey now enjoys her walks and content to spend her time with nose to floor, taking in all the smells instead of watching the sky.

 Her trainer believes in the right home, where the family will stick to the training plan she will continue to thrive.

 Scooby Dooby Doo… Ready to Meet You! 🐾

Scooby is an adorable, confident young boy of around 10 months old who is discovering the world around him and learning more every day. He is a very sweet boy with the most loving, expressive eyes and a playful personality. ❤️
Scooby is an excitable, bouncy and affectionate boy who loves his toys, chews and Licky Mats. He enjoys being active and having plenty to do, but once the day is over, he is very happy to settle down for a cuddle. Despite being such a young dog, Scooby sleeps soundly throughout the night in his crate. 💤
During the day, Scooby thrives with a good, consistent routine. He needs plenty of appropriate stimulation and things to keep him occupied between crate time. Access to a secure enclosed field would be a real bonus for him, as having the opportunity to safely run and burn off some energy really helps him to relax and settle afterwards.
Scooby is looking for a family who genuinely has the time, patience and enthusiasm to nurture a young dog. His new family would need to be around for the majority of the time and be prepared to continue his training, help him learn good manners and give him the structure he needs to flourish.
He would suit an adult-only home. Although Scooby is a lovely-natured boy, he can be rather clumsy, silly and exuberant, so we feel an adult home would be the best environment for him.
Scooby currently has a foster brother and really enjoys having another dog around. He would love a confident, playful canine companion who can tolerate his youthful enthusiasm and give him a little patience.
We feel Scooby would be particularly well suited to a more experienced home where his adopters will enjoy the journey of helping a young dog develop. Scooby has already come a long way and we would love to see his confidence continue to grow as he learns and experiences more of the world. ❤️

Nessie is a 5 year old large staffy cross who is spayed and vaccinated.  She is a sweet and well behaved girl indoors and has no destructive behaviours.

Nessie can be reactive when people come to the door and it can sound and she can appear scarey but has never bitten.   We have a behaviourist who is helping with Nessie training with the door and he will come to new owners.  

We are looking for owners who have bull breed experience and although she is good with children would like her to go to an Adult home only.  Nessie is good around other dogs but we feel that she would be more comfortable  has an only dog or with a nice friendly calm neutered male.

Any new owners we would like them to be willing to work with Nessie and our behavourist

PUZZLE BEING REHOMED BY EVESHAM LURCHER RESCUE Puzzle is an adorable little girl who is looking for her new slave… I mean owner! to begin the next chapter of her life. And honestly, whoever gets chosen by Puzzle is going to be very lucky indeed.
She really is the best of both worlds. At home, she is a complete lap dog— the second your bum hits the sofa, Puzzle will be there, straight onto your lap and ready for cuddles. But don’t let that fool you into thinking she’s a couch potato! She has plenty of energy for walks and absolutely loves zooming around with her favourite toys proudly clamped in her mouth.
Puzzle is fully housetrained, provided she is given regular opportunities to go outside and is reminded to do what she needs to do.
She currently shares her home with other dogs, although we are still figuring out whether she could potentially be an only dog. What we do know is that Puzzle really doesn’t like being left for any length of time, so her new family will need to be prepared to spend plenty of time with her. We are working on this and seeing whether she can become more comfortable with being left.
Puzzle cannot live with small furries or feathered friends, and she is not suitable to live with small dogs. Any canine companion would need to be bigger than her and, ideally, older and calmer. She definitely does not appreciate bouncy, boisterous dogs who think she is a toy — she will happily tell them exactly what she thinks of that! A calm, sensible bigger dog, however, could be a much better match.
Out and about, Puzzle is actually very good on the lead. She can bark at some dogs and, on occasion, has been known to bark at a human or two — just to make sure everyone knows she has arrived!
She is excellent in the car and travels beautifully in a crate. She settles down really well and has happily travelled for over an hour without any issues whatsoever.
Puzzle hasn’t been tested with young children. As she can be nervous and unsure at times, we feel she would be best suited to a home with teenage children aged 14+ who can understand that she may need a little time and space to feel comfortable.
When it comes to handling, Puzzle can initially be worried and nervous. She may roll onto her back in a very submissive way, so her new people will need to be patient, gentle and willing to let her build confidence at her own pace. But once Puzzle decides she loves you… she REALLY loves you. 
Puzzle makes an excellent personal hot-water bottle and has recently discovered that snuggling underneath the duvet is one of life’s greatest pleasures as she currently sleeps upstairs in bed with her foster mom, Who needs central heating when you have a Puzzle?
Puzzle is a truly fabulous little dog. She is adorable, loving and incredibly sweet, with just enough of that typical tenacious Dachshund attitude to keep life interesting!
She would love an owner who understands the Dachshund way of thinking, can give her the patience and reassurance she needs, and is ready to embrace all the cuddles, character and occasional sass that come with her.
